'Dansdiëtetiek Nederland' (DDNL) was founded in 2017.
Dancers and dance teachers of all ages, styles and levels need to be adequately fueled and build nutritional knowledge for optimal performance and health; just like any other athlete that demonstrates commitment and work with passion to reach his or her goals. "Dansdiëtetiek Nederland - Nutrition for Dancers" (DDNL) combines love and passion for dance, science and nutrition. Filling the gap between the Dutch dance scene and evidence based (sports/dance) nutrition by providing dancers the help and information they need, seek and deserve. DDNL enables these artistic athletes to consult easy accessible evidence based nutrition information and book dance specific nutrition counseling when desired so they can fully enjoy doing what they love most: dance!
We also provide various services for parents, dance teachers, artistic leaders and companies!

Dancers are creative artists and performance athletes working within a weight class and competitive environment. Meeting the desired aesthetics play an essential and important role in the life of dancers, who are constantly seeking for perfection in body composition, appearance and dance technique. Next to that, the dancer of the modern era is much more versatile trained. Dancers nowadays perform within various dance techniques at a very high level.
All these factors have an impact on dietary choices and intake, energy expenditure and body composition of today's dancers. To perform at their best, to pursue a healthy and fully enjoyable, vibrant dance career (and after career), dancers need to be adequately and optimally fuelled and acquire the right nutritional knowledge.
